[The bone hand moves??]
... That would explain all of the skeletons.
[That's like, the number one thing he would have expected from the Ninth.]

[I'M LAUGHING yes, it moves.]
If there's one thing we're not short on, it's fucking bones.

[look i (and probably zel) just assumed gideon dressed up an inanimate bone hand because that's what gals from necroland do.
anyway, he'll also look up at the stained glass. does it have any distinct design he can make out?]

[harrow would, absolutely, gideon is a different beast. the kind of beast that puts animated bone hands in cat costumes.
it looks a little like it might have been some sort of figure. the skull makeup is there, and it has a sword, but the face is cracked and gone.]
I
think
that's supposed to be Nonius. The only figure that ever had any relevance from the Ninth. Ortus wouldn't shut the fuck up about the guy.

He's the greatest swordsman the Ninth has ever had, apparently. I don't know, when Ortus did his poetry thing my brain shut off.

Hmm.
[squinting at this stained glass face.]
Who's that Ortus guy, anyway?

[she hesitates, here, but. it doesn't really matter now, she guesses.]
The guy that was supposed to be Harrow's cavalier.

He didn't want to. So he tried to escape, and the shuttle exploded.
Which is why I'm Harrow's cavalier.

[Wasn't there something about a bomb in a shuttle in that memory he saw before, too? Hm.]
And what's that -- a cavalier?

What, churches and temples and the like? Tons. My journey's taken me to a lot of them.
Most are for worshipping the gods... the Flare Dragon, Ceiphied, most of all. Or they're places for priests and priestesses to train their white magic.

[a thoughtful look upward, at the stained glass.]
Not actively, I guess. The gods where I'm from have been dead for a long time.
